A number of local shops and businesses have been announced winners of the highly esteemed Muddy Stiletto awards.

Below are a round up of all the winners: 

Family Attraction - River Bourne Community Farm

Salisbury Journal:

The River Bourne Community Farm is a free farm in Laverstock.

The farm is home to nearly 200 various friendly pigs, goats, alpacas, bunnies and more. The five-acre farmyard is an accessible space, which include £1 feed pots available to purchase for hand feeding animals. 

The farm has been open since 2010 independently run with the help of volunteers aiding with site maintenance, event support and animal care. 

Restaurant - Allium

Allium, is an independent, family-run restaurant located on Ox Row overlooking the Market Place. Their imaginative, social dishes are recommended as 2-3 small plates per person.

The restaurant has been highly regarded for their service, food quality and restaurant atmosphere. Allium is partnered with local suppliers who deliver wine from selected vineyards, as well as their ingredients are all free-range and sustainability farmed. 

Tim Tonkin, has been head chef of Allium since 2019. 

Florist - Fig and Bramble

Fig and Bramble are an independent florist serving Salisury, New Forest, Romsey and surrounding areas. The business, which has recently merged with Dora Flora flowers, offers a range of bouquets for all occasions such as bridal, sympathy and events. 

Adele and Gemma have run Fig and Bramble since April 2023 and have won best florist for the second year in a row with Muddy Stilettos. 

The florists offer group workshops for private parties which can include flowering activities creating flower crowns, seasonal wreaths and hand tied bouquets. The company uses biodegradable, compostable materials that can be recycled and reused after receiving the bouquet/s. 

Farmshop / Deli  - The Old Forge Farm Shop and Cafe

The Old Forge Farm Shop and Cafe is an independent shop in Berwick St James, equipped with a range of farm goods, a cosy cafe and occasional workshops. 

The shop which sells a plethora of local produce such as cheeses, jams and bread.  

Owner Sam Shipley-Baker; 55, lives in Shrewton and used to run the Little Green Village Shop in Durrington. The shop opened in March 2023 and won Best Farm Shop/ Deli for the second year in a row with Muddy Stilettos. 

Wine and Beer Specialists - Artisan Wine and Spirit Co

The Artisan Wine and Spirit Co are Salisburys only independently owned wine shop located on Winchester street. The intimate shop is home to nearly over 500 wines and 100 vermouths, liqueurs and craft beers.

The products are tried, tasted and hand picked by owners who have over 50 years experience between them within the wine trade. 

The store also hosts events such as cocktail academies and wine tasting. 

Owners Liz Coombes and Simon Hill have run the shop since the beginning of May 2021.

Women’s Fashion / Accessories - Lulu and Boo Jewellery (Wilton)

Lulu and Boo Jewellery, located in Wilton, is an independent sustainable jeweller which sells minimalist earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces. The products are designed, handcrafted and sold online-only by Corinne Whillock. 

The business offers jewellery classes packages for beginners which include materials, refreshments and lunch. These involve the creating your own jewellery pieces such as bangles, earrings or rings from scratch.
