Widows cop a festive feast

POLICEMENS widows were treated to an afternoon of festive feasting and fun when the Greenwich social group held its Christmas lunch.

The annual dinner for the widows of police officers in Greenwich was held at Plumstead Police Office, on Plumstead High Street, earlier this month. The ladies who were entertained by a Christmas choir and performances from Alexander Mcleod Primary School, in Fuschia Street, Abbey Wood, were treated to a full Yuletide buffet by serving officers who contribute to a welfare fund.

Volunteers picked up the ladies and dropped them off at their homes in the afternoon so they could enjoy their lunch.
