Martin Gilchrist

Martin has lived in Salisbury for the last six years and has worked in wildlife conservation for over 12 years. He has joined the Living River project from the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. At the trust he spent five years as the Salisbury Community Wildlife Officer working with communities to improve their local areas for wildlife. Before that Martin was a Countryside Ranger for Hampshire County Council at busy woodland site on the Edge of Southampton.

As with most people who are lucky enough to work in jobs like this Martin started his working life as a volunteer and putting into practice the knowledge gained from his Zoology degree. He still remembers his time as a volunteer well and so always makes sure there is plenty of tea and nice biscuits for the volunteers who help out on the projects he is involved in.
