REDLYNCH and Hale, fighting for survival in County Div 2, found itself in an unexpectedly strong position in the crucial match with leaders United Services, who were reduced to 129 - 8, thanks to an excellent bowling and fielding display by Ian Tanners team. Ben Brown led the way with 2-21 from 10 overs and with Rhys Williams taking over from him returning a frugal 2-17, the visitors were in trouble on what was proving to be a diificult pitch to bat on. Rain kept the players off the field for 40 minutes, but great support bowling from Nathan Pollard (1-23) and Glenn Willoughby (2-16), plus a clutch of impressive catches, gave the home side a fighting chance of staying up if they could reach the reduced target of 107 in 33 overs.
