HURRAH! I am literally jumping for joy - #happyhappyhappy

My Bold Broker (BB) has done it - he has not only secured me a mortgage but he has managed to bag me a five year fixed at a teeny tiny rate.

Cheers.

I may have aged a decade during the process, acquired some sort of inner ear canal problem (so attached to my mobile phone have I been for the last two weeks) and yes, I have felt more than just a little bit unsettled, but finally my cottage is mine, well almost.

I'm sure I have my Dad to thank along with BB, who IS magic. You see I have been asking Dad to make this move possible. I have even *ahem* been asking him to pull some heavenly strings and help get me a mortgage.

Now my Dad, who wasn't terribly fond of change, banked with NatWest since it was first founded in 1968. I on the other hand, have never had any dealings with them.

My new deal is with NatWest.

BB said: "So Bate, this is good news. What I haven't asked you is if you can walk to the shop from this place?"

Me: "Well walking to he shop is overrated. I live in a town centre now and I rarely walk to the shop."

BB: "But could you if you wanted?"

Me: "Over Forest and field. It might take a while, like a day."

I took mother to investigate the logistics of this overrated pastime.

We walked over a sheep field and plodded over a public path through a paddock with every step resembling a scene from the Archers.

But, it took us just 12 minutes to walk to the shop. And I loved every single minute of it.
