I was so excited when I heard on the radio that an Italian Market will be coming to Salisbury for two days August 9th and 10th. I will make sure to visit and buy the wonderful olive oil along with many other items I am sure. It reflects how well the French markets have been welcomed and it is wonderful for the city, I am sure it will pull in a lot of people that do not often shop within the city. Another positive announcement was that H&M fashion store will be opening later in the year. I know a lot of my friends teenage children make a trip to Southampton to shop with this chain, so hopefully they will now also shop within the city centre. I love Salisbury city, it is so pretty, with wonderful parks, walks along the river side and a wonderful selection of coffee shops and restaurants but it does need a balance of interesting shops to keep it alive, fingers crossed we are heading the correct way.

Now a question I would love to have answered, why has the fuel prices suddenly gone up again the moment the children start there summer holidays. Two weeks ago I was paying £1.28 per litre now suddenly it is up to £1.32 a litre and I cannot find any reason for it other than oil companies trying to make a killing because families are on holiday. I checked the crude oil prices if anything they are down, why when we are in a serious recession should they still be greedy. I am very aware that being in business you need to make money but surely there should be an element of social awareness. People would be more likely to spend more if the price is right, instead I keep hearing friends say, they are not going anywhere this year as the fuel prices are so high. I also noted that food prices have also increased in the last two weeks, they know children are at home raiding the cupboards and asking for ice creams, shame on you super markets.
