A HAIRDRESSER from Landford was presented with a prize by Olympic silver medallist Richard Hounslow during an awards evening held at her college.
Laura Cole, 20, collected the award from the slalom canoeist at the end of last month for the commitment she has shown while studying for her level 3 hairdressing diploma at City College, Southampton.
Miss Cole and the other prize winners also got to meet disability sports ambassador Geoff Holt, who co-hosted the event with Mr Hounslow.
“It’s amazing and I’m still so happy,” said Miss Cole. “It’s been a great year and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.”
The newly trained hairdresser now works for Elegance Salon in Totton.
