Small firms can be part of an installers' network

BUSINESSES are being invited to join a network to help them benefit from the home energy improvement market.

As part of Wiltshire Council’s Countdown to Low Carbon Homes project, the installers’ network will ensure local accredited businesses will be listed on a database available to members of the public searching for local qualified installers to carry out household energy efficiency improvements.

Registering on the database is only part of the advantage of being a member of the network, which is free to join.

As a member, businesses will also be able to meet other installers in the local area at regular meetings and find out about relevant legislation and group purchasing and training opportunities, Fleur de Rhe-Philipe, the council’s cabinet member for economic development, said: “This network is a fantastic opportunity for smaller local businesses to be given opportunities that may elsewhere only be available to larger organisations.

“As energy prices remain unpredictable, more and more residents will be looking for ways to make savings and become more energy efficient.

“They will need local qualified businesses to carry out the work and this network is a great way to promote their services.”

The network is available to businesses that specialise in domestic heating systems, solid wall, loft and cavity insulation, renewable heat and power technologies, window and glazing replacement and refurbishment, low energy lighting systems and general construction, refurbishment and maintenance work.

To register go to sustainable-energy- installers.co.uk/register/ or alternatively, you can email countdown@swea.co.uk or call 01452 833605.
