TELEVISION stars from the business world are coming to Salisbury for the city’s Big Business event in April.

Karren Brady, from hit show The Apprentice, will be joined by entrepreneur Mike Southon and Liz Jackson from Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire as keynote speakers at the event.

This is the second year the Salisbury Big Business event has been run, and companies of all sizes will be invited to gather for free advice from industry professionals, along with networking opportunities.

The event is being organised by Salisbury City Council, Wiltshire Council, Trethowans Solicitors, Blue Frontier IT, City Centre Management, the Federation of Small Businesses and Salisbury Chamber of Commerce.

Over the three days there will be workshops, free advice from industry experts and networking opportunities.

The event was launched last Thursday at the Guildhall and is already attracting interest from Salisbury’s business community.

“Last year we had more than 500 businesses visit us during the three days and the event was extremely well received by all those who attended,” said Claire Burden, business manager for Salisbury City Council.

“This year we have made slight changes based on feedback and we feel this event is a must for anyone running a business.”

There will also be several other highly regarded business speakers.

“To have such a high calibre of speakers who will share their passion and wisdom is fantastic for the business community,”

said Claire. “This event attracts businesses from further afield and we would encourage as many businesses as possible to attend in order to network and meet local and national companies.”

As part of the event, the Ambassadors business breakfast and city centre management meeting will take place in addition to the Chamber of Commerce’s 90- minute networking lunch.

Professionals will be able to swap views on the future of Salisbury and meet possible suppliers and customers.

The event is free to attend and is open to businesses of all sizes, although some charges may apply for networking lunches.
