Using technology to find apprenticeships

YOUNG people seeking apprenticeships in Wiltshire have been using the latest technology to help them find work.

A new free app called AV search has been launched which allows users to search through thousands of jobs advertised on the National Apprenticeship Service database on their mobile phones.

Figures from November 2012 – January 2013 show there were 119 vacancies in Wiltshire – 38 per cent more than the same period last year – and there were 680 applications made in the county, which is a 19 per cent growth.

Business and administration apprenticeships were the most popular although health services, animal care and design opportunities also generated large numbers of applications.
