Free shop offer for a budding business
IT is the final call for entries in a competition with a difference.
The shop unit pictured here is ready for occupation free of charge for the business that can convince a panel of five judges they are the most deserving.
There is a minimum of three months’ selling time in the unit at no cost to the aspiring retailer who moves in, thanks to a generous donation by Quantum at their Cross Keys Shopping Centre in Salisbury.
Eddie Deighton, who was the instigator of the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce-backed initiative, said: “This has to be a golden opportunity for any business person who wants to test their products in the High Street.
“The Chamber is offering full backup support, including marketing expertise, to the group or individual who wins the prize.
“There will be no rent to pay or business rates. And, if the business sees real results, they will be offered the chance of staying on at a discounted rent through Quantum.”
Mr Deighton, who is a director of An.x agency at Cross Keys, said his company will offer marketing support and advice and he welcomed a generous offer by the Salisbury Journal to donate £500 worth of advertising to the lucky business.
“Earlier in the year the Chamber launched a Can Do campaign, with the objective of highlighting many of the things that can help businesses grow,” he said.
“The free unit initiative is the first of many ideas we have to help businesses realise their full potential.”
