A TISBURY pub has reopened after a £220,000 makeover.
The South Western was reopened on November 16 by local MP Andrew Murrison and Patrick Duffy, chairman of Tisbury Parish Council.
It follows a major investment by owners Punch Taverns and new managers Nathan and Hayley Higgins.
The pub was closed for six weeks while it was transformed, with new signage and redecoration, inside and out, to complement the traditional design.
A new bar and dining area have been installed and the pub serves food seven days a week as well as a range of drinks including draught lagers, bitters and ciders, cask ale and speciality barista-style coffee.
The pub’s five en-suite letting rooms have also been refurbished.
“The kitchen area is my passion and I have spent most of my career in and around catering,” said Mr Higgins.
“We have some great new offers such as curry and a pint on Tuesday for £6.95 and cod and chips on a Friday for only £4.95.
“We are going to be famous for our carvery. It is really excellent and the feedback so far has been tremendous.”
He added: “The South Western has always been at the heart of the local community, and with this investment we have brought it into the 21st century as a first class destination for everyone to enjoy for years to come.”
