AN author from Salisbury has launched a new creative writing class in the city.
The course, being started by Jayne Woodhouse, inset, is aimed at absolute beginners as well as people who have started to write and are looking for some guidance.
Over eight sessions, those taking part will learn the basic building blocks of creative writing: plot, characters and setting, through a wide variety of tasks and activities.
Mrs Woodhouse has been a professional writer for 25 years and has numerous publications for both adults and children to her credit, including professional articles, nonfiction books, curriculum resources, radio plays, eBooks, CD-ROMs, novels and short stories.
And she is also a qualified teacher.
She said: “In this way, you will learn how writers get their ideas and practice some of the skills which make for effective writing.
“Everybody will be encouraged to work at his/her own level, and the small group size will enable me to give you lots of individual help and support.”
The sessions will be held at Greengages Café in Catherine Street on Thursday mornings from 10.30am to 12.30pm starting on February 6 and the introductory price is £65.
