TWO new jobs clubs have been set up to provide adults who are looking for work with professional advice and guidance to increase their chances of gaining employment.

The Work Skills Team will now be at Bemerton Heath and Warminster every week offering one-to-one advice and support, helping to identify skills and strengths and offering help with setting up an account on the government website Universal Jobmatch to search for jobs.

Job clubs also provide the opportunity to get free careers advice from qualified advisers, update CVs, write covering letters and access additional training.

Clare Huntley, lead training coordinator for the Work Skills Team, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to extend our job club provision to Warminster and Bemerton Heath in Salisbury.

The Work Skills Team can also offer free training for job-seeking adults claiming JSA/ESA benefit and offer information about preemployment and customer service courses as well as other provision and courses such as English, maths, computing and IT.

Anyone who is living in Wiltshire and is unemployed, over the age of 18 and eligible to work in the UK, is welcome to go along.

The Bemerton Heath Job Club will be held every Wednesday from 10am to noon. For more information or to book a place contact the Work Skills Team on 01225 756265 or 756379.
