DOWNTON hat maker Vivien Sheriff has been announced as the official milliner for Glorious Goodwood 2014. Sheriff has created three limited edition panamas for men and women for the horseracing event, which is from July 29 to August 2.

The hats, priced at £275, will be available from the Goodwood shop and in Harrods.

“I am very excited to take on the role of official milliner for Glorious Goodwood and reveal our limited edition panamas,” she said.

“The designs for each have taken inspiration from the countryside surrounding Goodwood Estate, infusing a traditional shape and colour with subtly dyed detailed feathering – a signature theme across many of my collections.

“I hope to spot many of them on the racecourse during Glorious this summer.”

Adam Waterworth, managing director of Goodwood Racecourse, said: “We are thrilled to announce the partnership with Vivien Sheriff ahead of Glorious this summer.

“Panamas are considered a quintessentially British accessory and have always been a big part of the racing at Goodwood.”
