Presented by: Robert Newman

Winner: Blencowe Scaffolding

Blencowe Scaffolding was awarded for a “massive improvement in performance”. The family-owned firm, whose current customers include Salisbury Cathedral, has been going for 50 years.

The company operates from a head office in Salisbury and a depot in Basingstoke, and provides scaffolding to Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, West Sussex and East Sussex. Alan Blencowe said the key to the company’s success is “determination, having a good team, which we’ve built up fairly strongly this year, and having a decent business plan to work to”.

Pat Blencowe, who founded the company, said: “We work particularly hard and this is a huge boost to the business. It's something we can work on and exploit to our advantage. We work within the community and employ people in Salisbury. We've got a good team and we appreciate what they all do. Our job is a team effort from start to finish and I think everybody needs to be included in this award.”
