CLAIRE Perry MP has launched a shop local awards scheme to find the best local independent shop in her Devizes constituency. Local people are being asked to vote for their favourite shop in one of four categories: Devizes, Marlborough, Tidworth and small town or village. The winner of each category will be presented with an award by the Government’s high streets minister at an event in Devizes in September and an overall winner will also be chosen.
As an incentive to get involved, anyone voting for the winning shop in each category will be in with a chance to win a £100 voucher to spend in that shop and the competition will run until August 31.
Mrs Perry said: “There are so many wonderful independent shops in the towns and villages across the Devizes constituency and I try to support them whenever I can. “But I wanted to get more recognition for these great local businesses so I am launching a competition to find the best. “Please do take a moment to vote for your favourite independent shop in Devizes, Marlborough, Tidworth or in a small town or village in the Devizes constituency at claireperry.org.uk/independent-shops
