A SALISBURY restaurant has been cooking for MPs and celebrities as part of a national cooking competition.
Hox Brasserie in Fisherton Street competed against 12 other restaurants from across the UK in the Tiffin Cup.
The cup is a competition run by the Tiffin Club every year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the UK and the final is held at the House of Commons.
Nominees are selected by their constituency and then put foward by their local MP and Salisbury MP John Glen put forward Hox.
After some confusion over how long they had to cook, Hox came sixth but owner Atiqul Hoque said they are determined to finish in the top three next year.
The competition was held on July 8 and the judges included chef and presenter Ainsley Harriott and former Eastenders actress Nina Wadia.
The winning restaurant was Purple Poppadom from Cardiff.
The event also raises money for charity and this year’s is international children’s charity World Vision.
