A STUDENT from Amesbury is celebrating success in Southampton Solent University’s Built Environment Awards.

Nathan Mundy, 23, has just finished his final year at the university, where he studied architectural technology.

For his final piece he designed sustainable offices for Glasshouse Studios in Fordingbridge by looking in-depth at sustainable technologies to incorporate into buildings.

Industry experts and employers were impressed by the quality of the work on display at the event, which was organised in association with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) south east region, the Chartered Institute of Building and Capita.

Mr Mundy, who hopes to work in America when he graduates, said: “I have enjoyed the design aspects of my course because you can be as creative as you like while having great guidance to not go crazy and over the top. I also enjoyed the live briefs which helped me to realise the constraints that occur in the real life industry.”
