FIVE colleagues at a water analysis company have raised £1,000 by hiking 40 miles.

The team from Amesbury-based business The Tintometer Ltd, who make the Lovibond brand, took on the PLOD South Downs challenge – a 40-mile midnight trek from Brighton to Eastbourne - to raise money for Action Medical Research.

The charity is dedicated to supporting research to help thousands of sick and disabled children in the UK.

The Lovibond team finished a respectable ninth out of 30 teams.

Oliver Hiscoe, community fundraiser for AMR, said: “The PLOD South Downs Way is a gruelling 40-mile endurance walk through particularly hilly terrain testing participants to their limit.

“We are indebted to teams such as Lovibond for taking part in this difficult challenge, fundraising for vital, lifesaving research.”
