A SALISBURY accountant has returned from his volunteering role as a Clydesider at the Commonwealth Games.
Robert Newman, of Moore Stephens South, worked with the spectator services team in Glasgow. His role varied from venue to venue but was primarily to help spectators in any way he could.
At Celtic Park he was outside the stadium for both dress rehearsals and the opening ceremony directing people.
His highlight was two days at Hampden Park where athletics events were held.
Mr Newman said: “The buzz in Glasgow was just like that in London when the Olympics were in town and the Glaswegians made everyone feel very welcome.”
