A NEW website has been launched by Wiltshire Council for people aiming to enter the jobs market.

The Work Wiltshire website is designed for anyone 16 or over who is looking for work, starting a new job, developing their careers or facing the challenge of losing their job.

Features include a registration system allowing users to access self-help information and, for those who are eligible, free support from an employment support worker through Project IMPRESS.

Project IMPRESS is for those who have recently returned to work after six months or more of being out of work, or who have just started their first job.

The support services available through Project IMPRESS include help with adjusting to life in employment as well as advice regarding issues including budget management, childcare and transport.

The Work Wiltshire website has been developed as part of Project IMPRESS using funds from Wiltshire Council’s Action for Wiltshire Programme, as well as the European Union’s INTERREG IVA Channel Programme.

Council leader Jane Scott said: “Work Wiltshire is a new and unique web portal for Wiltshire and we believe it will become a vital tool for people entering the jobs market.

“Supporting the local economy and doing all that we can to create and safeguard jobs is a key priority for the council.

“Project IMPRESS is a good initiative helping people in Wiltshire not only back into work but also to achieve their career goals.”
