COUNCILS across the country are being urged to back a campaign to boost the fortunes of small businesses.
National small business organisation, the Forum of Private Business, is renewing its call to build on the success of last year’s inaugural Small Business Saturday UK – by waiving parking charges for this year on December 6.
American Express launched Small Business Saturday in America in 2010.
The Forum has written to all local authorities, urging them to remove parking charges on the day, the first shopping weekend in the run-up to Christmas.
