Recognition for law firm

Within corporate and commercial Mike Watson and Nick Gent were both recommended.

Gent was described as “an excellent technical lawyer with vast experience,” while the team’s Paula Eckton and associate Louise Thomson attracted praise for their “timely and cost-effective support.”

Paul Longman of commercial property was recommended as “excellent all round” while developing the insolvency-related side of the practice.

The law firm has two top tier recommendations in the UK wide independent listing for its work in commercial property and fraud and licensing.

Head of licensing Caroline Matthews is noted as “quick accurate and helpful” and also listed in the Elite Leading Lawyers list, while Garry Treagust is recommended for his “experience and pragmatic approach” in the commercial sector.

This year, Chris Whiteley’s “dedicated” personal injury claimant team was noted and Kelvin Farmaner’s personal injury defendant team noted for its “constructive and analytical approach to issues.”

The firm’s Employment Team was also noted for its expertise, especially in the media sector. Both Jon Loney, who also was listed in the Elite Leading Lawyers list, and Trethowans’ managing partner Simon Rhodes are recommended.

In commercial litigation, solicitor Richard Cook was recommended for “getting to the nub of a dispute very quickly” and Jon Kelly as “a first-class insolvency disputes lawyer.”

Ian Singleton was also recommended.

In addition, recommendations were given to agricultural and estates’ Marcus Thorpe for his “good general rural knowledge;” the “particularly good” Andrew Mercer for family and the “very tenacious” Clare Carter for clinical negligence.
