PRESSURE from parents has persuaded a Salisbury nursery to extend its opening hours.
Pembroke Park School Nursery, in Devizes Road, will open from to 9am to 3pm from Monday, November 3.
Eleanor Pearce, head of the Early Years team, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to increase the hours we can welcome young children to our nursery as it’s something a number of our parents have been asking for.
The 15 hours’ free nursery vouchers parents are entitled to via Wiltshire Council will still be accepted.
New headteacher Matthew Sambrook said: “As part of Pembroke Park School, the nursery children have the additional benefits of using facilities such as the main hall where they love taking part in dance class, music and fun games.
“They also join in special school assemblies further demonstrating the integration of the nursery within the school ethos.”
Parents wishing to use the nursery facilities more than 15 hours a week must pay £3.70 per extra hour.
