RETIRED people looking for occasional work have been given a boost with the launch this week of a new online service to advertise their skills and availability.

RetiredButAble.com is the brainchild of entrepreneur Crispin Thomas, and gives retired people the chance to get out and about to find occasional work.

It also gives local employers the opportunity to gain a massive new resource pool for skilled or unskilled part-time workers in their area.

People can log their skills on the site, which is free for 30 days, and then for only £2 per month can offer themselves for local, occasional work.

The site is totally free to browse for employers who want to find a worker.

The site is secure and only works through email, keeping contact details discreet until both parties decide to talk to each other.

Once contact is made, RetiredButAble.com has no involvement with the work arrangements made between the parties.
