A JOB helping to upgrade military barracks near Salisbury is the new role for a Dartford man who beat 1,200 graduates to win a place on a development programme.

Denzyl Siaw, 21, has become one of the latest recruits at the company which owns and maintains the electricity distribution network for London, the South-East and East Anglia, UK Power Networks.

The firm has taken on 14 graduates in engineering, five in business and one in information systems in a scheme which is listed in Job Crowd’s Top 100 – voted for by graduates themselves.

Over the next two years Denzyl will receive extensive technical training, flexible work placements, leadership development and support from directors, mentors and ‘buddies’.

The graduates also run events for their own alumni, for 65 graduates and undergraduates, in their first four years with the company.

Denzyl will now be helping fulfil the company’s contract upgrading accommodation for troops.
