MARK Ward, head of fundraising for The Trussell Trust, will be presenting the trust’s ten-year project plan at the next Business Through Referrals meeting next Thursday.

Business Through Refer-rals (BTR) is a networking group that meets on the first and third Thursday mornings of each month over breakfast in Salisbury, with an early start at 6.45am and ending by 8.30am, so that members do not lose any valuable working time.

At each meeting one of the members has the opportunity to provide a 10-minute talk to the group.

The trust was established in Salisbury in 1997 initially to help children in Bulgaria.

In 1999 they established a foodbank in Salisbury after a cry for help from a recently-single mother and her three children who had no money or food.

Now this small helping hand has grown to over 430 foodbanks right across the UK which fed over 900,000 people in the last financial year.

It is now developing three major exciting projects to be implemented over the next ten years.
