THE Salisbury Fringe is looking to put on an even bigger and better festival this autumn.

Last year’s event, which was the second Fringe Festival, included a number of quirky bite-sized plays, monologues, workshop and poetry and young people’s events performed in pubs and restaurants, attracting many people to the city.

The event was supported by Salisbury Business Improvement District (BID).

This year the event is to be held over the weekend of October 2 with a preview evening on May 9 to give people a taster of what is to come.

Julian Demetriadi, director of the Salisbury Fringe, thanked the Salisbury BID for its support.

He said: “Our mission is to make theatre in Salisbury more accessible by providing the community with free-of-charge access to new works by talented local scriptwriters, whilst at the same time supporting the local business community as venues for, and sponsors of, our productions.

“In short, a very big ‘Thank You’ to the Salisbury BID not just for its financial support, but also for its excellent advice and help with venues and marketing the event.

“We look forward to an even bigger and better Salisbury Fringe Festival in 2015.”
