MP John Glen donned a builder’s hard hat to lay the official date brick for the grand opening of the new McCarthy and Stone Retirement Living development, Queen Eleanor Court in Amesbury.

He joined senior site manager Peter O’Connor, for McCarthy and Stone, to take a tour of the site and to find out more about the retirement living apartments in Amesbury.

Located on Salisbury Street, the development will have 33 one and two-bedroom retirement apartments and are expected to be completed in the summer.

Mr Glen said: “It was a pleasure to visit Queen Eleanor Court and formally mark its grand opening.

“Living independently and securely is so important and with an ever ageing population, it’s great to see developments like this in South Wiltshire, which will help local homeowners maintain their lifestyle with ease.”

A number of the apartments have already been reserved and for further information about the development contact the sales team on 01425 322111 or visit mccarthy andstone.co.uk.
