A NUMBER of previously unseen vehicles will be debuting at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) as part of the Westover’s Motor Showcase.

Over the weekend of Saturday, May 2 people can be amongst the first in the UK to see stunning ‘halo cars’ – including the Lexus LFA, Jaguar’s XE and the Land Rover SVR.

Westover is bringing its Motor Showcase back to the BIC following its success in 2013, when more than 3,000 people turned out to see the 80 cars on display.

This year will see 150 cars displayed in the BIC’s Solent and Windsor Halls.

Some of the halo cars to be displayed are yet to be confirmed, others remain under wraps but the Lexus LFA will take pride of place alongside the Jaguar XE and Land Rover SVR.

The LFA combines a custom V10 engine with a lightweight carbon-fibre construction and intuitive handling.

Although made for the road it comes to life on the track reaching 60mph in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of just over 200mph.

Also new for this year’s event is a Land Rover Terrapod – a portable urban off-road unit which allows passengers to get a feel for Land Rover’s all-terrain performance.

Visitors to Westover’s Motor Showcase will be able to sample the heights of Land Rover’s 4x4 models on a first-come, first served basis, simply by making a donation to the Bournemouth Hospital Charity. The charity aims to raise £2 million each year to plug funding gaps the NHS cannot meet.

“We’re really excited to have some great pre-release and limited edition models at our Motor Showcase this year,” said Mark Whittam head of marketing at Westover Group. “The manufacturers saw what a fantastic success our event was back in 2013 and they’re really making the most of this opportunity to showcase their latest models to an important audience of local people.

“We’ve got something for everyone, including families, so it’s not just petrol heads who will have a good day out. Thrill seekers are catered for too, with the Land Rover experience team on hand to show visitors exactly what Land Rover’s iconic cars are capable of. Prepare to be amazed.”

Westover’s Motor Showcase is free of charge and will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, May 2 and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, May 3.

Visitors can just turn up on the day but anyone who pre-registers at bic.co.uk will have the opportunity to win a brand new, family-sized car in a free prize draw - run in association with Auto Trader - simply by presenting their printed ticket at the door on the day.
