Wessex Care, Salisbury’s family run group of residential, nursing and dementia care homes, have appointed Anthony Lane as Operations Director.

Anthony has 30 years experience in Health & Social Care having originally qualified as a Registered General Nurse and Registered Mental Nurse. He has worked in Health & Social Care environments in care service provision and commissioning of joint NHS and Social Care Services. Anthony won a Department of Health Award with South West London Primary Health Care Trusts, a key element to this National award being the involvement and inclusion of people who use services and their friends, family and carers being an integral part of all supports. After working with Hampshire County Council and the Enhance Nursing Home developments across Hampshire, Anthony moved in to the private healthcare sector in 2010 and has gained experience in positions in Home Management, Regional Management and then National Operations Director roles. He is also an Honorary Lecturer in Primary and Social Care at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Kingston University – St Georges Hospital Medical School.

Managing Director Matthew Airey said, “Anthony joins us at a pivotal moment and his experience will be vital as we move into the first stages of our redevelopment of the five Wessex Care residential, nursing and dementia care homes into 21st century Care Centres.
