STAFF AT a fast fit and mechanical centre in Salisbury are celebrating after scooping a prestigious accolade from their employer. The Salisbury branch of Protyre, on Edison Road in the Churchfield Industrial Estate, has been named as the best centre in the organisation’s entire UK-wide network.

With more that 70 centres across the UK, Protyre is the UK's largest independent chain of fast fit and mechanical centres.

The centre’s manager, Ian Hunter, was presented his trophy by England rugby legend Neil Back at the Protyre annual conference at Twickenham Stadium. Neil, a key member of the 2003 Rugby World Cup winning squad, was attending the conference as a guest speaker and congratulated Ian and his team of 11 on their achievement.

Ian said: “The Protyre network consists of very high quality centres, so to be named as the best in this group is quite an achievement.

“The centre is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment and we’re having an MOT bay installed. Once completed, I’m confident that we will provide an even better quality service to motorists in Salisbury and beyond.”

Simon Hiorns, Protyre retail director, said: “Ian and his team are totally committed to delivering great customer service. In fact, the centre has had zero customer complaints in the past year.

“One of the methods we use to judge success is the widely recognised Net Promoter Score, which measures the willingness of customers to recommend a product or service to others. The highest score you can get is 100, and the Salisbury branch has a score of 90, which is amazing. They thoroughly deserve this award.”

In addition to a trophy, Ian was presented with an all-expenses paid visit to Continental Tyre’s state-of-the-art factory in Puchov, Slovakia, where he will see first-hand the scale of engineering that goes into the manufacture of modern car tyres.

Protyre is the retail arm of Micheldever Tyre Services, the largest independent wholesaler, distributor and retailer of tyres in the UK.
