WESTOVER Renault, based in Salisbury, has reported a strong first half of the year.

It stormed ahead of Renault’s national picture, recording a 27.8 per cent increase in new car sales from January to June while Renault’s increase stood at 14.9 per cent.

Sales of the Renault Zoe – Renault’s all-electric super-mini – raced ahead at Westover Renault, showing a 160 per cent increase when compared to the same six-month period last year.

Sister brand, Westover Dacia (Renault’s value vehicle brand), continues to go from strength to strength. After an incredibly strong launch year in 2014 – which saw Westover Dacia sales exceed all expectations – Westover has seen another hike in popularity for the Duster, Logan and Sandero, with an eight per cent increase year-on-year.

Westover Dacia supplied the 50,000th Dacia sold in the UK – a significant milestone for the new entrant to the UK car market.

“The renewed success of the Renault brand started three years ago with the launch of the all new Clio designed by Laurens van den Acker,” said Westover Renault and Dacia brand manager Chris Swain.

“That design influence was enormously successful and it has been carried on in the new Captur and Twingo."

"Customers are won over by the appealing styling, supported by a peace-of-mind four year warranty.

“There’s no doubt that the model range is incredibly strong at the moment. Renault have got it right and local people have been quick to catch on to the winning combination that’s on offer," added Chris.
