A FORMER St Edmunds and South Wilts pupil has launched her own company producing a range of colourful cut-out mount art and personalised Scrabble and button art.

Fiona Gilbert, 35, has set up Bella Boho Gifts with her husband Mat, a professional rugby player.

She said: “We design colourful, contemporary wall art and take time to personalise gifts.

“Our inspiration comes from our travels, our brief expat experiences of life in Sardinia and Venice, our environment, our animals and family – we just love what we do.

“Our two dogs influence a number of our designs and our love of the countryside in general is definitely reflected in our many animal themed designs.”

Fiona, who used to work as a marketing and communications manager for a charity, is relishing the opportunity to work for herself.

“I loved my previous job, but the time was right to do something for ‘us’ for a change,” she said.

“Due to Mat’s career we have moved around a lot over the past few years and I have always been in a supportive role to his career.

“Now the time is right for me to work for myself and do something I truly love.

“I’m lucky that Mat is not only supportive but is also so creative.

“He is the designer of our incredibly popular Love is All Around and The Journey of Love mounts.”

Mat added: “We get our ideas in many forms, from walking the dogs along the beach and collecting beautiful paper samples to drawing out pattern designs on the computer.

“Our ideas are filtered through the Bella Boho selection process, usually over a cup of hot chocolate in a café as we watch the world go by.

“We also product test our creations on our long suffering friends who thankfully love our wall art almost as much as we do.”

In addition to being online, Bella Boho Gifts will soon be a presence at craft markets and Christmas fairs.
