A CITY law firm is investing in its future after appointing new trainees to work at its offices in Salisbury and Southampton.

Simi Virdee, Andrew Campbell and Alex Coles join Trethowans on a two-year training programme which offers each candidate comprehensive experience and training in four different areas of the business.

All three new trainee solicitors already have experience working at the law firm.

Managing partner Chris Whiteley said: “We pride ourselves on recruiting top quality staff at all levels and we are delighted to award trainee contracts to Simi Virdee, Andrew Campbell and Alex Coles.”

Simi moves from the company’s agriculture and rural property team where she has been a legal assistant. She studied law at Brunel and graduated in 2008 before continuing her studies at the College of Law in Guildford and University of Portsmouth. Simi will start her trainee programme with the commercial litigation team.

Andrew Campbell has been working as a paralegal in the corporate team at Trethowans having graduated from the University of Portsmouth and studied at the University of Law. He will continue to work in the corporate team for his first placement.

Trainee solicitor Alex has been working as an assistant in the debt recovery team. She graduated from the University of Southampton and completed the Legal Practice Course in Guildford. Her first placement will be as part of the personal injury team.

Chris says he was delighted to welcome the new trainees as Trethowans continues to invest in the very best staff for the future. He added: “We already have three trainee solicitors now going into their second year and our forthcoming merger with Dorset-based Dickinson Manser will boost our overall trainee solicitor numbers to eight. This investment in staff is part of our long term strategy for sustained growth.”
