SALISBURY Reds has invested almost £1million in six new buses for park and ride services in the city.

Cllr Horace Prickett, portfolio holder for transport at Wiltshire Council joined Salisbury Reds operations manager Alex Chutter to formally launch the buses at Wilton park and ride site last week.

He said: “These new vehicles comply with the very latest emissions standards and are capable of making a massive contribution to improving air quality within the city as well as reducing congestion and offering a cheap alternative to city centre parking.

"Salisbury Reds are to be thanked for their considerable investment and the expression of faith this gives our services.”

The new buses are Alexander Dennis Enviro200s, and comply with Euro5 environmental ratings.

Salisbury Reds operations manager Alex Chutter said: “I am delighted by the response we have had from those travelling on our buses since taking over all park and ride services in and around Salisbury."
