BUS operator Salisbury Reds will be raising money for the Royal British Legion next month with each bus displaying a poppy.

On November 11, at 11am, drivers will also be pulling over as a mark of respect to observe the two minutes’ silence.

Managing director Andrew Wickham said: “People in this city are rightfully proud of our country’s military – as is the team here at Salisbury Reds.

“We will be helping to raise funds, on buses and at our travel shop in New Canal, during November.

The work our troops do in unimaginably hostile war zones is incredibly humbling.

“We hope, by proudly displaying our poppies and raising awareness for this worthwhile cause, we’re backing our words with actions.”

Fiona Dobson, community fundraiser at the Royal British Legion, said: “Our role is to help servicemen, women, veterans and their families in almost every aspect of daily life.”
