A DURRINGTON builder has been named most heavenly builder in the South West.

Donald Capewell of Donald Capewell General Builders was awarded the title in the Federation of Master Builders’ Master Builders Awards 2017.

The heavenly builder category is where the winner shows professionalism, courtesy and exceptional customer service.

Donald’s client, David Campey, was recovering from radiotherapy treatment when Donald began work on a new extension. He did his utmost to ensure the building work had the smallest impact on his recovery and peace of mind.

Mr Campey praised Donald for his care and friendly approach, he said: “Our relationship with Donald seemed as if he was a lifelong friend doing the work for free. He showed compassion and care through the battle I was facing and remained positive throughout.”

Sarah Capewell of Donald Capewell General Builders said: “Winning the Federation of Master builders award builds a recognition for all the hard work carried out by Donald, myself and all our tradesmen that we use.

“We are constantly up against other competitors and this award allows us to stand out from the crowd.

“We are overwhelmed to have won the heavenly builder award for the region. Often in this current climate you often hear about all the horror stories about builders. This goes to show it is not always the case showing all the hard work is appreciated.

"This is the third FMB award that we have won over the years.”

Donald is now in the running to win the national category title at the Master Builder Awards.

Paul Hodge, the director of the FMB South, said: “Time and time again we have been impressed with just how far these builders will go to ensure their client is happy. It is this dedication that we want to celebrate. Donald should feel justly proud of his achievement in winning the heavenly builder award, and we wish him every success in the national competition.”

The national final ceremony takes place on September 15 at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London, which will be hosted by TV presenter Nick Knowles.
