CUSTOMERS flooded into the new Hobbycraft store after its grand opening ceremony.

The arts and crafts store, located in Dolphin Retail Park, Southampton Road, held a grand opening ceremony at 9am on Saturday, March 2, in front of a huge queue of customers.

Scores of customers flocked to the entrance, with a long queue trailing back beside the various buildings nearby as Deputy Mayor, Sven Hocking, cut the ribbon to officially declare the shop open.

Upon entry, early customers were treated to a free tote bag filled with all sorts of crafting goodies.

As previously reported, the hotly anticipated craft shop opened its doors at 9am on Tuesday, February 27.

Speaking on the day, Store manager, Emily Kutassy-Richards, 30, told the Journal: "We're excited to be opening in Salisbury, there has been a lot of talk in the community before today so it is good to finally open.

"It was really nice to see lots of customers waiting outside.

"We hope that we can be a great place for the local community to get arts and crafts supplies, our staff our keen enthusiasts and are keen to help with projects."
