A BIKE shop is moving out of the city centre after 99 years.

Hayballs Cyclesport, currently at 26/30 Winchester Street, will soon relocate to Brunel Road in Churchfields to combine with its existing sister motorcycle shop.

The business said took the decision to move so that the shop could have "a little more breathing room" with quadruple the amount of showroom space.

Its last day of trading in Winchester will be Saturday, March 30, and everything will be moved over to the new site by Tuesday, April 2, for the grand reopening.

Customers will have access to an in-store cafe and free on-street parking at the new shop.

A spokesperson for Hayballs took to social media to tell customers: "We're looking forward to a great year, and with your support we can make that happen."

All of the bikes which are currently at Hayballs for servicing will be moved to the new shop.

If a customer is unable to collect their bike, Hayballs said it is "more than happy" to personally deliver it to them.

Upon hearing the news, customers wished the business luck with the move.

One person wrote: "Many good years and memories spent working there with Graham Hayball watching the shop evolve over time."

Another responded: "Best of luck Graham and team, sure it will be a wise move. Free parking a huge plus point!"
