WEB 2.0 is the title of the latest seminar to be hosted by Cravenplan Computers at its Swallowcliffe offices.
Taking place today, it will cover topics including what is new about Web 2.0, social networking, blogs, wikis and podcasts, and the implications for you and your business.
The free one-hour seminar, which starts at 1pm, is aimed at anyone with a website who wants to know more about future trends.

FINANCE director Mark Merrill is the speaker at tomorrow’s meeting of Salisbury business networking club Ambassadors at the Grasmere House Hotel in Harnham.
Mr Merrill, who went to Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury, is a chartered accountant, having been in practice since 1994.
He works as a senior adviser to organisations in the voluntary and private sectors on issues of financial and general management, governance and planning.
He was one of the first chartered accountants to gain the diploma in charity accounting in 2008 and also has a post graduate qualification in organisational behaviour.
He will be talking about his work as a finance director, giving examples of how he helps to improve managers’ understanding of their business and its performance.
Networking starts at 7.30am and the main meeting at 8am.

THE Wiltshire Rural Business Club is meeting next Tuesday, January 19. Guest speaker Rodger Seaman, of Business Class, will talk about winning and retaining good clients.
He will be sharing his experiences of “what has worked and what has not” during his food sales career, and club members will be asked to talk about their experiences.
The event is at The George Inn, Longbridge Deverill, and is at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.

BUSINESS Link is hosting the latest of its free seminars in south Wiltshire on January 28.
The seminar, entitled Guerrilla e-marketing, explores how social media can benefit small businesses. It aims to demonstrate how the Internet has advanced and how customers can be targeted and reached through a variety of online channels.
Andy Poulton, IT adviser for Business Link, who is running the session, said: “More and more small businesses are using the Internet and giving it more importance in terms of marketing.
“What this seminar will show is that social media marketing should be taken seriously for business.
“Customers are becoming more Internet-savvy, and small businesses should be up to speed with the Internet too.

HUMAN resources specialist, J Mann Associates, of Amesbury, is holding a free seminar for charities on January 28.
It is aimed at trustees or directors who need to protect themselves from the legalities of employment law and led by Jacqui Mann, managing director of J Mann Associates.
Topics will include developments in employment law, social networking and maximising staff resources.
Ms Mann said: “Even if you have just one employee or volunteer, you will have HR issues.
“Not keeping up with the constant changes to employment legislation could be leaving your charity open to costly litigation.
