TWO members of staff at Salisbury accountants Francis Clark have each achieved a sporting ambition.
The Journal has already reported 20- year-old accounts assistant Tom Warner’s success in reaching the last 16 of the national under-25s Bowls Singles Championships at Coventry.
And tax senior Rachel Hillier, 34, has been selected as a volunteer for the London 2012 Games.
Mr Warner, who is singles champion at Five Rivers Indoor Bowls Club in Salisbury and Alderbury Bowls Club, said: “I was introduced to the sport by my grandparents when I was seven and I’ve been playing for the county since I was eleven years old.”
Ms Hillier is one of about 70,000 volunteers selected from the 250,000 who applied and she will be working with the Olympic venue protocol team, which will manage the Olympic and Paralympic villages, drop-off zones, lounges and stands.
She said: “I missed out on the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002 because I was studying for my accountancy examinations.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of this fantastic event.”
