Fireworks firm's 'Titanic' Proms event

A FIREWORK company will be lighting up the stage during the live broadcast of the BBC Proms show in Northern Ireland for the sixth successive year on Saturday.

Firework Effects, based in Wilton , is putting on a special show at Titanic Belfast Centre, marking the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise on September 8.

Owner Joe Cameron has 85 trained operators working on the big night.

He said: “A phenomenal amount of preparation has gone into the occasion. It’s a super event to be part of but it’s going to be extremely manic.

“We haven’t stopped all year round, as we’ve had so many events to cover.”

The 62-year-old formed the company 12 years ago and has had a contract to close the final leg of the event for the past five years.
