MARINE company Halyard has appointed a new sales director.

Andrew Davies joins the company, which designs and manufactures specialist marine exhaust systems for vessels ranging from multi-million-pound superyachts to commercial craft working in some of the world’s toughest environments, with a strong and successful background in marine sales.

Mr Davies has previously worked for six years at Raymarine UK Ltd as UK and Ireland sales manager and before that he was a divisional general manager at Phoenix Mecano Ltd, a global manufacturer of industrial components.

At Halyard Mr Davies will be responsible for heading up the sales team, working with production boat builders worldwide, as well as individual designers and managers of custom- built superyachts.

Halyard’s technology is also used in workboats, ferries and military vessels, he will also work with Halyard’s team of international distributors supporting sales to these diverse markets.

Richard Summers, managing director of Halyard, said: “We are delighted that Andrew has joined Halyard. His skills will help develop new markets for Halyard and, with his technical expertise and background, he will help fulfill the complex role between sales, design and engineering.”

Mr Davies will be based at Halyard’s head office in Salisbury but will travel extensively to visit customers, boat yards and marine industry events.

He will also be heading up the company’s presence at key boat shows including PSP Southampton Boat Show, Monaco Yacht Show, Fort Lauderdale International and SMM in Hamburg.
