Don't miss chance to win free advertising

ENTRIES are coming in for the Journal’s latest business competition to win free advertising - and there’s still time to take part.

Nationally, Local Business Accelerators has attracted 1,000 entries from young companies keen to take advantage of the free advertising and mentoring from successful entrepreneurs.

The closing date for entries is Monday, November 14.

The Journal is one of 500 newspapers together offering £15million worth of free advertising to the most go-ahead businesses.

The scheme, organised by the Newspaper Society, is backed by prime minister David Cameron, culture secretary Jeremy Hunt, John Cridland, director general of the Confederation of British Industry, and Deborah Meaden, of TV’s Dragons’ Den fame who is its national ambassador.

As well as free advertising, the winning three enterprises, which must be between one and three years old and within the Salisbury and Forest Journals’ circulation area, will be mentored by three of the area’s most successful entrepreneurs.

One lucky business, chosen from the hundreds of regional winners, will get individual mentoring from Deborah Meaden.

Mr Cridland said: “This is an innovative scheme to help promote much needed growth in our communities.

“Small and medium-sized businesses across the country have the potential to grow and create many new jobs and by joining forces in this way, local newspapers can help provide valuable practical support.”
