The independent voice of business

The Chamber exists to represent the needs of its members in any area which affects their business, and in particular is a strong lobbying voice for its members with local government, our MP and MEP.

To strengthen our representation, we have joined “The Forum of Private Business”. Our members automatically become associate members and will access information and other benefits of this organisation.

Since 1977 the FPB has been a powerful voice for more than 25,000 UK private businesses and is one of the four Social Partners in Europe along with the CBI, TUC and the Public Sector Partnership. The FPB is the only representative for SMEs in Europe.

The Chamber membership of the FPB automatically gives our members associated membership, which means you will receive the FPB’s weekly eNewsletter and regular eReferendum, letting you influence policy decisions.

Our members will benefit in other ways by our decision to become members of the Forum of Private Business including discount on the highly acclaimed Health & Safety and Employment Guides, which gives practical information and help to comply with the law.

Our members will be able to upgrade to full membership of FPB at substantially discounted rates, giving up to £50,000 in legal protection insurance as well as a business helpline.

The FPB has a track record of achievement, which includes late payment legislation, business rates relief, reform of banking practices and successful modification of red tape, particularly in Brussels.
