Council and Committees

Executive Council
The Executive Council is comprised of the President, Vice-President, Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Solicitor and Executive Officer. This Council meets once a month to discuss what issues need to be taken forward for discussion and action where necessary by the Chamber Council.

Chamber Council
The Chamber Council is comprised of the Executive Council, appointed members and partnership representatives including the City Centre Manager, Business Link, Spire FM and Salisbury Journal. This Council discusses the issues brought forward by the Executive Council and then decides on the action to be taken.

Social Committee
To organise events and forums for members.

Action Committees
Where necessary committees are set up to deal with individual issues and events such as environmental and planning, transportation and parking, Expo, Annual Awards Dinner and Christmas.

The Chamber is an active lobbying organisation and through its various action committees we have initiated various projects in partnership with other organisations, which have in the past included the introduction of CCTV, the implementation of a City Manager, pedestrianisation and Park & Ride. More recently we actively intervened on the Skew Bridge works and were instrumental in obtaining a swifter conclusion to the works.

We are members of various partnership committees and members are invited to be our representative where required.

Wessex Alliance

We have formed an alliance with other Wiltshire Chambers to give us a strong voice in strategic issues and the opportunity to access a wider audience for our members.
