Thorney Island set for Modified Madness

PREFER YOUR own driving action and performance-proving to watching Jenson and Lewis battle it out with the Red Bulls at Silverstone this weekend? Then drag yourself down to Thorney Island where you can drift away to your hearts content, enjoying action-packed fun.

Drag racing and drifting all at the Modified Madness weekend at the former Vulcan RAF base, now used by the army, near Emsworth on the Hampshire-West Sussex border.

Some two dozen owners’ clubs from across the south will be joining in the fun, and camping is available all weekend where you can put up the canvas with friends, other maxers and car and bike enthusiasts.

There will be top drag racing action where you can RWYB (run what you brung) for a small fee just a couple of times or all weekend, and a purpose-built drifting/handling circuit for donuts and power slides.

Proud of your power? Then go along to the rolling road and see what horses you’re really running.

Modified Madness is hosted at Baker Barracks, Thorney Island. The show is open to the public tomorrow and Sunday. Spectators are welcome and, if you plan to burn rubber, rules and regulations apply so please check out the drag racing section first.
