Anniversary celebrations at Alderbury and West Grimstead

Anniversary celebrations at Alderbury and West Grimstead Anniversary celebrations at Alderbury and West Grimstead

THERE was a party spirit at Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School as staff and children celebrated the school’s 20th anniversary.

Pupils were given presentations by former teachers and pupils so they could compare how their school is today with how it was when it first opened.

Jonathan the Jester provided entertainment and there was a cake-making competition, followed by the chance to tuck in to the results.

A special birthday cake was designed by Year 6 pupil Heather Whaley and made by her mother Kate, who is a teaching assistant at the school.

Children were also taken to St Mary’s Church in Alderbury where they met former heads of the two old village schools and of Alderbury and West Grimstead before a service was conducted by Revd Elizabeth Moore-Bick.
